The Devils We Know

Design and leadership are not pills or saviors. They are not given to the select and elegant few to be distributed as alms of privileged doctrine to the subscribed masses and the return of honorifics and laurel wreaths. No, design and leadership are of us all. They are the absurd and impossible answers to the serious questions of life. One cannot be a serious person by remaining unreflective. If so, they are coerced and clipped by the arrogance of the proper. Who is a serious person but the one who embraces the eccentricity of life and living beyond oneself?

The Devils We Know is a triage for identity. It is a response to the rhetoric of ideologies that, over time, become destructive epitemporal and epicognitive contagions. Its goal is to serve as a counterbalance and hopeful inoculation through a consideration of what it means to “be” around so many others attempting to do the same.
